Illegal production of weapons in Darra, Pakistan

Darra is a dusty, Wild West-type town, crawling with intelligence agencies, drug smugglers and gun-toting Pathan tribesmen. Darra-built Kalashnikovs, not known for their durability, sell for US$30 to US$45 alongside knuckledusters, shotguns with telescopic sights and twelve bores made to look like M16 assault rifles.
