A dried out reservoir in Hainan Province, China. 26 March 2007. Reservoirs across Hainan, China's southernmost province, have reported sharp declines in their water volumes. The drop can be attributed largely to the island province's scant rainfall and higher temperatures which has resulted in increased evaporation and some parts of the province have experienced a 60 to 80 percent reduction in rainfall.
