  • SHANXI PROVINCE, CHINA - June 12: A farmer carries harvested wheat to the road on June 12, 2010 near Yongji, Shanxi province, China. Known as the country of rice, China is also the world's main producer of wheat, with an annual output of 112 million tons. In this little village of Shanxi province, Chinese farmers use a clever way to detach the wheat's seed from the thatch. They lay the wheat down the public road, and wait for vehicles to drive. The velocity's strength detaches the seeds from the thatch. The farmers need not to beat the wheat manually anymore. (Photo by Lucas Schifres/Getty Images)
