  • HONG KONG, CHINA - December 18: Tim Ho Wan restaurant's menu on December 18, 2009 in Hong Kong, China. Tim Ho Wan restaurant is the world's cheapest Michelin star restaurant. In its 2009 Hong Kong edition, Michelin world-famous gourmet guide awarded a one-star rating to this dim sum restaurant, which serves the cheapest Michelin meals in the world. Everything on the menu is between HK$10 and HK$18 (between EUR0.89 and EUR1.60). Tim Ho Wan restaurant may be small, but it was already a big hit with the locals before the Michelin recognition. On an average day the wait to enter the 32-seat restaurant is 3 hours. Restaurant's owner Mak Kwai-pui estimates Michelin's rating only brought about 20 percent more customers, increasing his profits by only HK$1,000 a day (EUR89). And he "sees no reason to raise prices just because they are more customers". (Photo by Lucas Schifres/Getty Images)
